Plans are in for a large housing development at a village near York.
York developer Mulgrave Properties wants to build 64 homes in Wheldrake.
They would be constructed on three small paddocks north of North Lane.
Under the proposals lodged with City of York Council, the development would comprise a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom houses, featuring detached, semi-detached and terraced properties.
Nineteen of the homes are classed as affordable, in a mix of social rented, shared ownership and first homes.
At the centre of the development will be open space with a pond and meadow.

One parking space is earmarked for every house, and they come with an electric vehicle charging point. Most will have either a single or double garage.
In York’s draft Local Plan, the site was identified as lying within the general extent of the Green Belt.
However, the developers argue that York’s unmet housing need is “substantially unmet and on its own constitutes very special circumstance to justify inappropriate development in the Green Belt”.
They add: “The site is distinguishable from the open countryside that typically considered to be Green Belt.”
