More than 100 homes without power after Storm Dudley in York and North Yorkshire

Engineers are working to fix power cuts to more than 100 homes in York and North Yorkshire this morning.

It comes after Storm Dudley brought strong winds across the region.

Two of the power cuts are in York. They are at:

• YO24, YO26 and YO30 (Clifton) – fewer than 10 properties. Power will be restored by 12.30pm, Northern Powergrid estimates
• YO30 (Clifton) – 40 premises affected. Power should be back on by 10.30am.

Elsewhere around 20 properties are without power at  YO61 1EQ near Sutton-on-the-Forest. They are due to be reconnected by midday.

In YO60, YO61 and YO62 a few properties near Gilling East are blacked out, while 90 are out east of Driffield.

Given the ferocity of the winds, it could have been much worse. Northern Powergrid is now awaiting the impact of Storm Eunice, due tomorrow.
