The airfield where a plane crashed on Thursday remains closed as investigations continue.
The company that runs Leeds East Airport at Church Fenton near York issued a statement today (Saturday) about the incident.
The crash, which saw the light aircraft flip onto its roof, happened as it was attempting to take off, the update revealed.
The occupants of the Cessna T210M, two men in their 70s, were taken to hospital.
One remains in a critical condition.
In a statement today, Leeds East Airport said: “At around 5.10pm on Thursday, a single light aircraft carrying two people was involved in an incident during take-off procedure at Leeds East Airport.

“Our airport emergency crew was swiftly supported by regional emergency services, including air ambulance.
“Both occupants of the light aircraft were taken to hospital. We are assisting a team from the Air Accidents Investigation Bureau.
“Leeds East Airport is currently closed to all aviation, until the damaged aircraft is removed from the scene.”
