Millie’s Winter Ball is back for 2024, promising to be a night to remember.
The Millie Wright Children’s Charity are hosting their third annual ball on Saturday 23 November at York Racecourse.
The evening is supported by Olympic and Commonwealth Champion Nile Wilson and hosted by TV presenter Amy Garcia.
Olympian and Charity Patron, Nile Wilson, said: “After last year I’m so excited to be supporting Millie’s Winter Ball again in November. It’s been an incredible year for the charity so this will be a great opportunity to celebrate all the successes and say thank you to all our supporters. It’s going to be an amazing night, so I recommend you all get your tickets as soon as possible.”
Established in May 2022, Ceri and Nigel Wright founded the charity in memory of their daughter Millie.
The Millie Wright Children’s Charity exists to address the inequalities in hands on charitable support for families of children with life threatening conditions.
Based at Leeds Children’s Hospital and recognised by Leeds Teaching Hospitals trust, the charity provides practical, emotional, mental health and wellbeing support for children and families throughout their stay in hospital.
As one of the UK’s largest specialist children’s hospitals, Leeds Children’s Hospital offers a wide range of treatments and care from across the country.
Co-Founder of The Millie Wright Children’s charity, Nigel Wright said: “We’re thrilled to announce our third annual ball and delighted to have YorkMix as our media partner for the event. Join us at York Racecourse on Saturday 23 November for a glittering evening of fun and fundraising.
“You’ll be greeted with a drinks reception followed by a sumptuous 3 course meal. This will be followed by our raffle and fabulous live charity auction hosted by Dave Mathewson from TV’s Bangers and Cash, then topped off with live music from local York band Spectrum.”
The Millie Wright Children’s Charity recognises the strain and uncertainty that comes with having a seriously ill child in hospital, and is a big advocate of mental health and wellbeing.
Successful fundraising has meant that the charity currently employs a Family Support Worker to provide much needed help and support for parents.
As well as their #feedtheparents initiative, the charity supports the activities of the hospital play team, bringing the much needed normality to the lives of these, often long-stay, parents.
The Ball will begin at 6:30 pm with carriages at 1am. Tickets are £70 per person and can be booked here.
