The Met Office has just issued a double weather warning covering York and North Yorkshire.
A first yellow warning for heavy rain in both city and county comes in from 8pm tonight (Monday) till 8am tomorrow.
Then the same warning is repeated for tomorrow (Tuesday, 1 November) from 8pm to 8am.
Issued at 5.52pm tonight, the warning says: “A spell of heavy rain is expected overnight which may lead to some localised disruption.”
The warning covers much of England. This is what the Met Office says we should expect:
- Bus and tr.ain services probably affected with journey times taking longer
- Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
- Some interruption to power supplies and other services likely
- Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.
