A man who fell from the apartment block he was working on has died from his injuries, police said today (Thursday).
On 1 November, YorkMix reported how a man had been seriously hurt after the fall on Bishopthorpe Road.
Now the police are taking the lead in the investigation, to examine whether any crimes have been committed.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Following an incident on Bishopthorpe Road in York on 1 November, in which a 34-year-old man sustained serious injuries while at work during a fall involving a raised platform, we can now confirm that sadly, he has since died in hospital.
“North Yorkshire Police has now taken primacy in the investigation, although it remains a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive.
“The investigation remains ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident, and whether or not any offences have been committed.
“We are not in a position to release any further details at this time.”
