Man taken to hospital after late night attack in York city centre
A man was punched to the ground in a late night attack at the weekend.
It happened at the junction of St Helen’s Square and Blake Street at about 3.30am yesterday (Sunday, 15 May).
A man punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.
The injured man, aged in 20s was seen by police officers on nearby patrol who obtained medical assistance for him.
He was taken by ambulance to York Hospital where he was treated and later discharged.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and release while under investigation.
