A man was left with a serious head injury after being attacked in York.
It happened on St Stephens Road, Acomb, at around 12.40pm yesterday (Sunday, 12 February).
A 40-year-old man suffered a serious head injury in the assault.
He was taken to hospital by the ambulance service where he currently remains in a serious condition.
Earlier, police issued a CCTV image of a man they wanted to question about the incident.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said on Monday afternoon: “The man in the CCTV image has now been identified. Thank you to those who shared our appeal.”
