A man was hurt in an attack near the river in York last night (Wednesday).
As we reported, Blue Bridge was sealed off by police. Now the force has given more details about the incident.
Officers were called by the ambulance service at 7pm who were reporting an assault, believed to have occurred near the Blue Bridge.
A man in his 40s had suffered a head injury.
Police searched the area and then arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the assault. He remains in custody.
The Blue Bridge has since reopened.
