A man has been left with a suspected broken nose after an assault in York city centre.
The incident took place on Friday (January 5) on Tanner Row.
Police were called at 2.25am to reports that a man had been assaulted and had sustained facial injuries.
The victim, a man in his twenties, was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and a suspected broken nose.
The 29-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of assault and wounding. He remains in police custody at this time.
One resident told the York Press: “This morning there were pools of blood in Tanner Row. It’s like somebody’s had their throat cut.”
