A man was stabbed after an argument on a York street.
The incident happened on Walmgate between 6.30pm and 6.55pm on Friday (January 13).
What police are describing as “an altercation” involving two men took place outside and opposite the One Stop Shop, on both sides of the road.
The victim, a man in his forties from York, received serious injuries, including stab wounds, requiring hospital treatment.
A 43-year-old man from York was arrested nearby on suspicion of wounding, and has been released on bail as enquiries continue.
DC Robert Brook, of York Serious Crime Team, said:
I would ask them to contact the police or Crimestoppers with any information.
