Three people have been arrested after a man was discovered with serious stab wounds in York.
Police received a report of an incident on Swann Street, off Nunnery Lane, at 9.10am today (Tuesday 1 January).
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said:
Officers attended the scene and discovered a 27 year old man with serious injuries to his back. The injuries to the man are believed to have been caused by a bladed weapon.
The man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where he currently remains in a serious condition.
A 31 year old woman and a 36 year old man were arrested at the scene.
Officers sealed off Swann Street for several hours. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene landing next to Scarcroft School.
Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were also sent there, according to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Armed police were then called in to locate a further suspect. A raid on a flat in Lowther Street led to a 30 year old man being arrested at around 4pm.
The police spokeswoman added: “All those arrested remain in custody and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this time.”
