Man stabbed in York after being attacked from behind

A man has been stabbed by an unknown assailant in York.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the man was attacked near Arran Place.
It happened between 3.30pm and 3.40pm on Friday (3 June) as the victim was walking across the grassed area towards Arran Place.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “He was approached from behind by an unknown suspect and was stabbed once in the back of his thigh before the suspect ran off in an unknown direction.
“Thankfully, the victim was not seriously injured but did require hospital treatment.”
A witness told YorkMix that armed police and an ambulance were called to the scene on Friday.
