A man required surgery after being attacked in York.
Police have issued CCTV of a man they would like to speak to following the assault.
It happened on Clifford Street at about 2am on Saturday 26 August.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A man was seriously injured after being violently assaulted on Clifford Street.
“This unprovoked attack resulted in the victim’s jaw being broken, which requires corrective surgery.
“Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the man in the image as he may have information that will help the investigation.”
