A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a bus on Rougier Street.
The incident happened shortly after 12.30pm on Friday (May 27) at the junction between Rougier Street and Station Rise.
A spokeswoman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said the cyclist, 55, had sustained ‘serious injuries’, and was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed in Memorial Gardens nearby.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said the man suffered head injuries, but they are not thought to be life-threatening.

The bus, a Connexions service, was travelling from the direction of the railway station towards Rougier Street.
Roads around the incident were closed but were due to be re-opened by mid-afternoon.
