Two men were attacked by a gang of teenagers in York city centre, leaving one of them seriously hurt.
The men were sitting near the bottom of Clifford’s Tower on Tower Street at about 7.15pm on Sunday (21 June) when the incident happened.
They were approached by a group of teenagers and assaulted. The attack has left one victim with a serious injury to his eye.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said:
We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone who can provide information or descriptions of those involved are being urged to contact police.
