Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after violence in York city centre
A man was taken to hospital for emergency treatment for serious facial injuries after violence broke out in York city centre.
Police have made three arrests, including a boy aged 16 – and they are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The attack happened around St Helen’s Square between 2.15am and 3.15am on Saturday (4 September).
A York man aged 27 suffered serious facial injuries which required emergency hospital treatment.
Another man, also from York and aged 24, was also allegedly assaulted when he tried to help detain the suspects.
A 23-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, all from York, have been arrested in connection with the investigation. They have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
