Police investigating an attack on a man in York city centre have traced a key witness.
Officers appealed for a woman to come forward after an assault in Exhibition Square at around 4.40am on Sunday 20 November.
The victim, a local man aged in his early 30s, sustained serious injuries to his face and body and required hospital treatment.

York police want to trace this woman as they believe she is a key witness to a serious assault in the city.
The attack happened in Exhibition Square at around 4.40am on Sunday 20 November.
The victim, a local man aged in his early 30s, sustained serious injuries to his face and body and required hospital treatment.
Three men, all aged 24 and from York, have been arrested and released under investigation while enquires continue.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “As part of the ongoing investigation, we are asking for help identify the woman in the CCTV image who we believe could be a potential key witness to the assault.”
