Man knocked unconscious in York street attack
A man lost consciousness after being punched in the head in an attack in York.
The assault took place at around 11.30pm on Saturday 23 October. A group of about five males approached the victim and his friend as they walked along Blossom Street, near to KFC.
One of the group punched him in the back of the head in an unprovoked assault.
The victim fell to the ground unconscious, hitting his head on the road. He suffered a laceration to the back of his head, and also bruising and soreness to the rest of his body.
Two of the group stayed behind to check on the victim’s condition, but the other three men were seen to walk away from the area, towards the city centre.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and asking any witnesses to the assault to please get in touch.
“In particular, we are appealing the two men who stayed behind to assist the victim to contact police as they may hold information which is important to the investigation.”
