A man in his 60s was badly hurt after being attacked in York on Easter Saturday.
The man suffered broken ribs and facial injuries in the assault.
It happened between 10.50pm and 11.10pm on Saturday, March 26.
He was attacked on the public footpath in view of the road opposite the RSPCA on Water End, York.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent in relation to this incident.
He appeared at York Magistrates Court on Tuesday (March 29).
