A man needed a stay in hospital after being attacked on a bridge in York city centre.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened on or near to Ouse Bridge between 2am and 2.30am yesterday (Thursday, 5 November).
Two suspects assaulted the man, aged in his forties. He was taken to York Hospital and was kept in for treatment.
Two male teenagers have been arrested in connection with the incident, and released on bail pending further police enquiries.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any part of a fight occurring.”
