Man hit by lorry in York dies of his injuries
The man who was hit by a lorry earlier this month has died of his injuries, police said today.
The lorry and the pedestrian collided on Saturday 2 October at around 1.45am on the B1363 Wigginton Road between the railway line and the Bumper Castle.
The lorry was travelling out of the city towards the ring road when it happened.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Very sadly the pedestrian, a man in his forties, who sustained serious head injuries in the collision has since died in hospital.”
Officers from the Major Collision Investigation Team are renewing their appeal for witnesses, CCTV or dashcam video.
The spokesperson said: “They would be particularly interested to speak to anyone who was walking or travelling in the area who may have seen a pedestrian on Wigginton Road (B1363) prior to the collision, or anyone who was travelling in the area between midnight and 2am who have may have captured dashcam footage of their journey.”
