A man was grabbed by the throat in York city centre – in the middle of the day.
Police have just revealed details about the incident, which took place on Gillygate at 1pm on Wednesday 27 November.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“In particular, we are appealing for information about the man who carried out the assault.”
He is described as
- aged around 65 years old
- between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 10ins tall
- and of thin build.
He was wearing a blue jacket and was carrying an umbrella.
