A man is fighting for his life in hospital after the plane crash which saw a light aircraft flip over on the runway of an airfield near York.
As we reported, emergency services were called to the airfield at Church Fenton yesterday (Thursday) at 5.10pm.
Both occupants of the plane, two men in their 70s, were injured.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance also went to the former RAF airfield, now home to Leeds East Airport. One of the passengers was airlifted to hospital.
In an update today (Friday), North Yorkshire Police said: “We remain at the scene of a light aircraft crash today, where we are conducting joint visits with the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB).
“The condition of one of the occupants, a man in his 70s who was taken to hospital yesterday, is described as critical.
“There are no further updates at this time.”
