A man has died close to the A64 in York.
Shortly after 4pm on Monday (25 February), North Yorkshire Police received a call from a member of the public concerned about the safety of a man.
A cyclist saw the man on the embankment near to the bridge on Murton Way which carries the A64 dual carriageway.
Police and ambulance crews were called out. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said:
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death but at this time there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
