Man dies in collision on the A19 north of York

A man has died in a two-vehicle collision on the A19 today (Thursday).

Emergency services were called to the crash on the south-bound carriageway at South Kilvington at 5.30am.

It involved a white Audi A4 and a black Peugeot.

Sadly, the man who was driving the Peugeot was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Audi was uninjured.

The road is likely to be closed until around midday whilst emergency services respond. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
