A driver died in a crash in North Yorkshire early this morning.
The man, aged in his 50s, was driving a red Vauxhall Corsa which left the A64 near Crambeck and hit a tree.
North Yorkshire Police say they became aware of the crash at 3.30am.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been told.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said one of their vehicles had attempted to stop the car a short time before the collision.
The spokesperson said: “The A64 currently remains closed in both directions to allow for collision investigation work to take place and this closure is expected to remain in place until rush hour today.
“The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
“It is mandatory for a police force to refer itself to the IOPC following a death with any police involvement.”
