A former worker at St Peter’s School in York has appeared in court charged with sexual offences against a teenage girl.
Thomas James Marriott, 37, of Churchstoke, Montgomery, Powys in Wales, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday).
The seven charges all cover a period in the summer of 2010.
He is alleged to have committed the offences against a teenage girl on the school premises on Clifton, York.
Three of the charges relate to sexual activity with a girl amounting to an “adult abuse of position of trust”. Four other charges relate to him inciting sexual activity with a girl while he was an adult in a position of trust.
Marriott did not enter a plea.
He was sent to York Crown Court for trial on unconditional bail on 11 April.
