Police have charged a man for preventing the burial of Claire Lucas.
A 35 year-old man will appear in court charged with preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body and theft.
He will appear at York Magistrates’ Court on the morning of 4 April.
The charges follow an investigation by North Yorkshire Police into the death of Claire, 25, whose body was found at a property on Fourth Avenue, York on Monday 2 July 2018.
Murder inquiry launched
The discovery saw detectives launch a murder inquiry. A man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
But in September police annouced that they were no longer treating her death as murder.
At the time they said it was “a continuing investigation and we are committed to our task of determining the full circumstances around Claire’s death”.
