A York man was charged with murder on Tuesday (March 22) after the victim of an attack near a city pub died.
Kenneth Dunnington, 58, was initially charged with wounding following an assault in an alleyway near the Fulford Arms on Fulford Road, which took place at about 9.45pm Friday, February 19.
The victim, 45-year-old Benjamin James Traherne of Ordnance Lane, York, was taken to York Hospital after the attack. He died there on Monday, March 7.
Dunnington, also from York, had been remanded in custody since appearing in court earlier this month.
Detectives have now charged him with the murder of Mr Traherne, and he is due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning (March 23).
