Man charged with manslaughter after road death of 21-year-old
The 20-year-old man was charged on Sunday night (October 12) and is due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on Monday (October 13).
The appearance relates to an incident which took place at around 1.50am on Saturday (October 11), when Mr Wilson, from Haxby, was hit by the taxi.
It is believed he had been involved in a violent incident a short time before being struck by the car.
Detectives still need to trace two men who were at the scene of the incident and they are strongly advised to hand themselves in to the police.
Detective Inspector Andrea Kell, of York CID, said: “I still need to speak to the two men who were at the scene of the incident. I urge anyone who can help us to trace them to contact the police straight away.”
The 16-year-old girl and 20-year-old woman, who were assisting the police, have now been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
