A man who was walking with a child in York was assaulted in a York street.
It happened on Lowther Terrace off Holgate Road at about 2.50pm today (Monday).
North Yorkshire Police said they received reports that a man with a child had been assaulted by another man.
A force spokeswoman said:

Members of the public restrained the suspect before police arrived on the scene.
The victim and child were both uninjured in the incident.
The suspect has been arrested and taken into police custody.
