This was the scene after a crash in Scarborough last night (Sunday).
It happened on Stepney Road in the town.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The driver didn’t want to stick around but was picked up at the top of the hill.
“After blowing 79 on the roadside alcohol breathalyser, he is currently on his way to custody.”
That’s more than double the drink driving limit of 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
Police say they have visited a few addresses near to where the car crashed.
But they are asking for anyone with information about the incident who hasn’t spoken to them, or if you have CCTV or doorbell video footage, to contact them on 101 quoting reference 12240125327.
