Make your own bubble – and be part of a York art exhibition
A new community art project has been set up by two York based artists – Donna Maria Taylor and Katie Hill – who have creative spaces at South Bank Studios on Bishopthorpe Road and they’d love you to get involved.
“We’ve designed the project in the hope of adding a little bit of creativity and art into peoples’ lives during the current lockdown and we are planning to have a real-life exhibition of all the work produced at some point when circumstances allow.
We are inviting anyone interested to make a small circular piece of artwork at home (12-21cm in diameter) on the theme: A Year Of Change – “My Bubble”.
Then deliver or post it to us to put together, first as an online exhibition and then as a physical exhibition at Southlands Methodist Church (where the studios are located) once restrictions are lifted enough to be able to do this.
“Of course we have no idea when this might be!”
Anyone who is resident in York can get involved – professional and amateur artists alike. Families are also more than welcome to take part.
The artwork should be personal to you and inspired by your life in York during the last year. The deadline for submissions is 23rd March 2021.

Or if you have any questions you are more than welcome to email Donna & Katie at [email protected].
