The A64 has reopened after a serious crash this morning (Friday).
It was first reported at around 1am close to the junction with Copmanthorpe roundabout and junction with the A1237.
The eastbound carriageway remained closed between the A1237 to the A1(M) J44 junction until 12.44pm.

A car and lorry were involved, according to the AA, and the car caught on fire.
All the emergency services went to the scene.
Police carried out a collision investigation which took a number of hours to complete, before the road could be cleared and the vehicles recovered.
Diversions were put in place but the closure still caused long delays.
