Emergency services were involved in a river rescue operation in York city centre tonight (Thursday).
Several police cars, fire engines and ambulances were called to the River Foss responding to reports of someone in the water.
A crew from York Rescue Boat was also scrambled.
They were focusing on an area of the Foss near the junction between Foss Islands Road and Navigation Road.
Tonight North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service station manager Tony Walker tweeted: “Acomb and York crews have just rescued a person from the River Foss in the city.
“No more details available at this time.”
YorkMix understands the person has been taken to hospital.
