People were urged not to travel on the trains on Tuesday night after a severe signal failure caused rail havoc.
But the problem has now been fixed and the rail service is back running normally.
On Tuesday evening, National Rail said: “A fault with the signalling system between Doncaster and York / Selby means all lines are blocked tonight (Tuesday).
“As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 80 minutes or revised.”
Passengers were warned that the major disruption was expected to continue until the end of the day.
LNER said: “We are experiencing major disruption across the LNER route due to a fault with the signalling system between York and Doncaster.
“We strongly advise you to avoid travelling if you can. Trains are running, but there is major disruption, and you may be heavily delayed or experience severe overcrowding.”
Hull Trains customer advice:
Trains may be diverted via Goole, where possible. Selby and Howden will not be served.
