A serious crash left two elderly people hurt this afternoon (Thursday).
It was on the A63 at Monk Fryston at 12.31pm, which was shut while emergency services responded to the incident.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed nearby. Police, the fire service and road ambulances were also been called to the scene.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Selby and Tadcaster responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision with elderly casualties inside who were unable to self-extricate.
“Crews assisted the occupants out of their vehicle, creating space using a reciprocator saw to cut back hedges around the vehicle.
“Both casualties were left in the care of paramedics.”
