A long vacant shop is about to get the luxury treatment.
The Luxe Company is moving into a store on Coney Street, and is set to open later this month.
Luxe describes itself as a “luxury lifestyle retailer of home decor, furnishings and accessories including fabulous Christmas gifts and decorations, plus designer lingerie, swimwear and nightwear”.
Established in 2015, the business is owned by Brian and Lisa Marshall. It began as an online-only nightwear and lingerie retailer.
But its range expanded over the years to include homewares, furniture and gifts.
The company then opened its first bricks and mortar store, on West Park, Harrogate.
“We have become increasingly convinced that, far from being a dying channel, the High Street is as essential today as it always has been, it just needs to evolve and stay relevant to today’s consumers,” Luxe says on its website.
“People still love to see and touch the items they covet and nothing replaces the in-store experience.”

Its new store will be in the shop last occupied by fashion brand Wallis. It has been empty for at least five years.
In 2017 it was due to become home to Italian beauty retailer Kiko Milano. But then that global brand pulled out.
Now it is to be The Luxe Company – and it is hiring. A post on the brand’s Instagram channel, describing Luxe as York’s ‘best kept secret’, says they are looking for “outgoing, enthusiastic individuals” to work in the new shop.
Both full and part time jobs are available. If you’re interested, email your CV to [email protected].
