Wellbeing meets water sports at a new riverside retreat in North Yorkshire.
Luxury hotel Aldwark Manor has launched ‘Babs’ – a spot on the banks of River Ure that aims to offer a versatile meeting space.
Babs is a base for kayaking, paddle boarding and river-based recreation, as well as being available for private hire.
Situated 500 metres from the main hotel, and accessible by foot or golf buggy, the retreat can function as a venue for team-building sessions and creative workshops.
“We designed Babs to be a space where ideas flow as freely as the river beside her,” said Richard Smith, general manager of Aldwark Manor Estate.

“It’s an environment that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and think differently.
“Whether it’s for a leadership retreat, a wellness day, or an afternoon on the river, the intention is the same: this space helps people connect — with each other, with nature, and with themselves.”
The features and facilities of Babs includes a river-facing indoor lounge and private outdoor terrace, restroom facilities, coffee machine, refreshment delivery by buggy, and more.
Babs is now available for private hire through Aldwark Manor Estate. For more information, to arrange a site visit, or to book your watersports session or off-site meeting, call 01347 838146.
