Look who’s back! A colourful figure returns in all-white – with a green message
Fans of Purpleman have been missing the colourful character after he left the city’s streets several months ago.
But a strangely familiar figure has returned to York – albeit all in white.
He is Eduardo Eske, and he describes himself as Purpleman’s great- great- great-grandson. “We have a very interesting diet in our family – lots of grapes,” he said, by way of explanation.
Eduardo said he would be in York until around 5 January:
-
What I’m doing this Christmas and New Year is sitting on my bike with my Christmas tree donating money to Treemendous York with a goal to raise enough money for them to plant an extra 1,000 trees in and around York.
I’m not sure if they’ll be white or purple, but they’ll all be beautiful.
He said the money he donated to Treemendous York would help offset all the excesses of Christmas which cause environmental damage.
Purpleman, meanwhile, is on a retreat creating lots of art, Eduardo said.
