A shop that has been serving up bargains for years is to close next month.
The British Heart Foundation shop on York Road, Acomb, will shut on Saturday, 22 March.
It has been a fixture in Acomb for at least 20 years.
Tracey Jeffels, British Heart Foundation area manager said: “After many happy years of business, our lease is ending, and sadly our Acomb shop will close on 22 March.
“We would like to thank our wonderful staff, volunteers, customers and donors for their support over the years.
“Our loyal customers can still visit and donate to our three other shops in Goodramgate, Bridge Street and Clifton Moor, or give us a call to arrange a free collection service for those bulkier donations.

“York’s support of the BHF is invaluable, helping to fund our lifesaving research for the 370,000 people in northeast England living with heart and circulatory diseases.”
Some locals have said a new lease came with a significant rent hike, but YorkMix has been unable to confirm this.

It will leave another empty shop on Acomb’s high street. Farmfoods closed in December, just a few yards away on Front Street.
Some residents said they were very disappointed the BHF shop was going. “Such a shame. Will miss it. Landlords should let charity shops out for less,” one said.
But it’s not all one-way traffic. D Frames on Clifford Street is relocating from the city centre to Front Street, Acomb because of rising costs.
And Front Street is soon to benefit from an upgrade, including a unique mural, following an investment from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
