A local security company has established a new scheme to protect York businesses this festive season.
Eboracum Security have launched ‘Operation Tungsten’, an initiative deployed by loss prevention operatives to help prevent and detect crime.
The operation will run throughout November and December sporadically, in order to surprise would-be criminals coming to the city centre.
It’s fully funded through Eboracum Security and is 100% focused on helping to prevent losses within the city.
Operation Tungsten will operate with the support of York businesses, working alongside services such as the York BID Street Rangers, Security Officers, and North Yorkshire Police.
Experienced Eboracum professionals will track down travelling criminals in York and apprehend where necessary, before liaising directly with police officers.
Strong deterrents in the city will be obvious through proactive patrols and positive action, in order to help prevent losses to businesses.
Eboracum will also provide guidance and support to businesses to help prevent internal and external losses in the future.
Carl Nickson, MD of Eboracum, told Yorkix, “Operation Tungsten is being funded 100% by Eboracum. It has come into fruition primarily to support York businesses and help to prevent crime related losses for these businesses during the busy run-up to Christmas, loss prevention teams will be deployed at peak-times and based on information received in order to detect and disrupt business crime.
“Op Tungsten Teams will also provide a high visibility-presence on the streets of York City Centre which in-turn will hopefully deter retail crime and anti-social behaviour.
“Eboracum will be liaising directly and promptly with North Yorkshire Police during this operation, and if successful, will consider repeating the operation in the future.”
Operation Tungsten progress can be monitored on Eboracum’s social media platforms throughout November and December.
