Weekly update, to 24 June 2022: Sharp rise in number of Covid patients in York NHS Trust hospitals
Another 529 coronavirus cases were reported in York this week (to Friday, 24 June) – up from 299 last week.
That takes the cumulative case total to 67,017 – giving an overall infection rate of 31,759.8 cases per 100,000 people.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 198.6 new cases per 100,000 people (419 cases). It was 141.7 last week.
The English national average is 154.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 129.6.
There have been three coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (up one). The total number of deaths in the city is 493.
