Weekly update, 3 June 2022: 117 coronavirus reported in York

Another 117 coronavirus cases were reported in York this week (to Wednesday, 1 June – no figures issued for bank holidays or at weekends).

That takes the cumulative case total to 65,867 – giving an overall infection rate of 31,214.8 cases per 100,000 people.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 67.3 new cases per 100,000 people (142 cases). It was 79.1 last week.

The English national average is 62.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 51.6.

There have been two coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (up two). The total number of deaths in the city is 491 (no change).

There have been four coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in the week to 1 June.

That takes the total to 954 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were 59 Covid patients in York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals) on 1 June – down ten on the week before. None is in the intensive care unit – no change.
