Wednesday update: Six more coronavirus deaths in York NHS Trust hospitals
A further 90 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 31 August).
That takes the cumulative case total to 20,236 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,590 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 562 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 82 (-12.7%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 269.7 new cases per 100,000 people (569 cases in the week to 28 August). That’s down from 309.5 in the previous seven days (653 cases in the week to 21 August).
The English national average is 312.9, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 349.1.
There were two coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 1 September).
