Wednesday update: One area of York now has just three coronavirus cases

Another 54 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 15 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 21,151 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,023.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 396 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 123 (-23.7%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 202.8 new cases per 100,000 people (428 cases in the week to 11 September). That’s down from 268.2 in the previous seven days (566 cases in the week to 4 September).

The English national average is 308.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 361.8.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 15 September).

In North Yorkshire, there were 241 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 55,363 – an infection rate of 8,920.7 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 3,612 cases in Ryedale (up 18) – 284 case rate per 100K
  • 9,211 in Selby (up 36) – 328.3
  • 14,708 in Harrogate (up 73) – 402.4
  • 7,759 in Hambleton (up 29) – 273
  • 10,085 in Scarborough (up 55) – 382.6
  • 4,807 in Richmondshire (up 17) – 314.5
  • 5,181 in Craven (up 14) – 263.4 .

There were two coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 642 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were four coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 5 September, and 42 in the previous seven days (up 11).
