Wednesday update: Four more coronavirus deaths in York NHS Trust

A further 29 coronavirus cases were confirmed today in York (Wednesday, 25 November) – and there were four more Covid-related death within the NHS trust.

The latest cases take the cumulative total to 5,547 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,633.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 256 positive Covid-19 tests in York – a decrease of 753 (74.6%) week on week. That drop is exceptional as it is comes in the week after 702 tests were added to the total on 16 November due to a recalibration of the weekly figures.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 132.5 new cases per 100,000 people (279 cases in the week to 21 November). That’s down from 171.4 in the previous seven days (361 cases in the week to 14 November).

At the University of York, there were 40 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Tuesday it has been notified of eight new cases, included in that figure.

At York St John University, there were nine people self isolating due to a positive test on Sunday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 137 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 12,840 – an infection rate of 2,077.5 cases per 100K.

There are 690 cases in Ryedale (up ten), 2,026 in Selby (up 23), 3,477 in Harrogate (up 36), 1,663 in Hambleton (up 17), 2,787 in Scarborough (up 28), 947 in Richmondshire (up ten) and 1,250 in Craven (up 13).

There were four more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 280.
