Wednesday update: Coronavirus rate falls in York
Another 70 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 8 September).
That takes the cumulative case total to 20,755 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,835.9 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 539 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 23 (-4.1%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 266.3 new cases per 100,000 people (562 cases in the week to 4 September). That’s down from 269.7 in the previous seven days (569 cases in the week to 28 August).
The English national average is 324.9, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 375.4.
There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 8 September).
