Wednesday update: 539 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

A further 75 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 6 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 22,593 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,707 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 505 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 9 (1.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 239.3 new cases per 100,000 people. The English national average is 334.8, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 416.1.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and four in the last seven days (as at 6 October).

In North Yorkshire, there were 464 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 63,088 – an infection rate of 10,165.5 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 4,075 cases in Ryedale (up 22) – 276.8 case rate per 100K
  • 10,360 in Selby (up 63) – 425.3
  • 17,205 in Harrogate (up 177) – 547.2
  • 8,846 in Hambleton (up 38) – 452.5
  • 11,505 in Scarborough (up 81) – 481.9
  • 5,262 in Richmondshire (up 23) – 292.2
  • 5,835 in Craven (up 60) – 406.4.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 656 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were four coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 26 September, and 31 in the previous seven days (down nine).
